Help Amani Beat Corona
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on all our lives, but the staff at the Amani Centre for Street Children in Moshi, Tanzania, face an especially large challenge. To help raise desperately needed funds, FOA-UK have set up a special fundraising page on JustGiving.
There are currently over 400 children in Amani's care, either in safe houses or in supported community-based care. Amani has to keep these children safe, prepare for the impact of COVID-19 on the Tanzanian healthcare, food and economic systems, all while continuing to rescue children from the most dangerous situations.
To do this, Amani will need to raise thousands of pounds at a time when international fundraising events are being cancelled and donations are falling. The money raised will help Amani put new distancing systems in place, cover the costs of additional food and hygiene supplies, and help support those families who have been reunited but will see their income disappear as a result of COVID-19. To put it simply, the money we raise will help save lives and livelihoods.
