26.219 Miles for Amani
Amani Hero Alert! One of Amani's great supporters is taking on a whopping 26.219 mile run in aid of the Amani Centre for Street Children, when he participates in the Birmingham International Marathon on October 15th, 2017.
Jon Gallagher has been a frequent visitor to Amani over the years and remains as passionate as ever about the work being done there to transform the lives of street children and vulnerable families in northern Tanzania.
On his fundraising page, he writes: "I love what Amani do, I love the way they do it. It's a well run organisation that has become a beacon of best practice for Children's Centres across Africa and beyond. I've always been impressed at how well they use any help they receive."
Running a marathon is certainly no easy feat, but Jon has set himself an even bigger target: "Its a daunting prospect but I've been putting the miles in all year in training and hope to cover the distance in around 3 hours 15 minutes. Maybe."
Well, we believe in you Jon and you've got a 100+ strong crowd cheering you on from Moshi!
