Friends of Amani UK
Friends of Amani ( UK) was set up to support the work of Amani Centre for Street Children in Moshi, Tanzania. Our aim is to raise awareness and funds for Amani. As a registered charity (reg.:1107618), we ensure the good governance of all our fundraising and support. The Board are committed to the work of Amani, have all visited the Centre, and work together with the staff in Moshi to ensure that some of the most vulnerable children on this planet are given hope and a future. We meet annually with the Director, Meindert Schaap, in the UK, and are kept informed of the developments in the work in Tanzania throughout the year. Additional board meetings about our work in the UK take place throughout the year.
We have also hosted a number of open events to which donors and those interested in the work of Amani are invited. These have included quiz and auction evenings, an art exhibition, a gospel choir concert and “hunger” lunches where Meindert has been the speaker, as well as numerous small scale local events and fundraisers put on by a great band of supporters.
To attend any upcoming events and to keep up to date with the work of Friends of Amani UK, please check the 'News' page or follow us on Facebook. We'd love for you to get in touch!
